SALAM Condemns Violation against Home of Prominent Religious Figure in Bahrain
Bahrain SALAM for Human Rights is following with grave concern the repetitive raids on the house of Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Qasim, who is the leading religious Shia representative in Bahrain, without warrant or legal justification.
Bahrain SALAM for Human Rights warns of the increasingly harsh and violent treatments carried out by the regime against the majority Shia population, and notes that the raids on Sheikh Isa Qasim’s home is one of many methods of abuse directed at Shia prominent figures. It has become unambiguously clear that there is systematic targeting and discrimination against the Shia population of Bahrain.
As such, Bahrain SALAM for Human Rights calls on the international community to take action against the targeting and discrimination against the majority Shia population of Bahrain and prevent attacks against their prominent figures. Aswell as demand of the Bahraini Government to abide by international agreements it has signed to and ratified that governs these serious issues.
