SALAM Contacts Delegates Participating in Manama Dialogue

SALAM Bahrain for Human Rights has articulated a letter to the participating countries and organisations in the upcoming Manama Dialogue that is commencing on 5 December 2014 in Bahrain.
The letter advises the participating countries to consider the recent humanitarian issues in Bahrain, from stripping of nationality abuses that affected 52 citizens and killings under torture, to targeting of human rights activists and discrimination of Bahraini Shia Muslims (who are the majority of the indigenous population).
The letter went into more detail regarding the one-year sentence against prominent Bahraini human rights activist Maryam Khawaja, the killing of Hassan Alsheikh under torture in prison, and the stripping of nationality of 52 Bahraini citizens who face different consequences from deportation to exclusion from any benefits and services.
The letter urged them to discuss these pertinent issues and have talks with senior Bahraini officials.
